I don't know how to begin this, not because it is such a rare thinking or such a big/ rare experience, but just because i had been through this many a times previously. It is partly about the aimlessness that i have conveniently adapted to; at the same time it is about the future of my life as well as many others in our country.
Yesterday i had been to the residence of my colleagues Vijay and Hareesh, both from Andhra, staying in Vijaya Nagar; on the persistently continued invitation of the former engg college lecturer, Vijay. One more colleague of, ours Mr Somesh staying nearby was also there.Vijay, who married his earlier colleague, just after 4 months of meeting her, is a very easy going friendly man. Hareesh , the cute boy, is liked by anyone who come across him. Somesh is studious , a bit confused but very strong in pursuing his aims. We had a nice non veg meals prepared by Vijay, and watched a Telugu movie. What is so unusual about it? Nothing, what bothers me is their religious belief, or rather my religious belief.... All of them are like me in manners, i felt...or we all had many a common characters....
Now, how come they, praying only once or twice in a day, without going for religious classes and without reading religious texts can be like me in manners, thinking, and how come their experiencing of the world not far different from mine??? I aims at praying 5 times a day and achieves that in almost half of the year ...I attends to religious classes or speeches/sermon at least once in a week? What role ones religion has, in defining our character. How come another friend of mine, prays in front of a Shivlinga form and still talk of 'submitting' to the will of god? (As per one of my learned Muslim friend mr Anwar Islam is nothing but submission to God).
And is it because India was ruled by Muslim rulers and so the Character and manners of Indians are greatly influenced by the Muslim character/manners and thought???
Or is it that when it comes to the hard questions in life only ones belief/religion matters??
Or did i give more emphasis to ones religion in defining his charecter???
Or is it because all the religions aim at making the human being a well behaved aimful animal???
